# Zeolite vs. Modified Citrus Pectin: Which Binder Is Right?

> How clinoptilolite zeolite and modified citrus pectin (MCP) compare as detox-support binders — how each works, the evidence, safety, and where Plastiq Off fits.

Zeolite and modified citrus pectin (MCP) are two very different "binders": **clinoptilolite zeolite is a porous mineral that works in the gut, while MCP is a soluble fiber made from citrus peels that acts more like a gel-forming fiber**. Both are used to *support* the body's natural elimination pathways, and neither is proven to remove toxins already in your blood or tissues. Plastiq Off uses micronized zeolite plus active B12.

## How each one works

* **Modified citrus pectin** is citrus-peel pectin processed into shorter chains so it dissolves more easily. It's essentially a **soluble fiber** that forms a gel in the gut and is studied mostly for that fiber-like activity.

## Which should I choose?

Neither is proven superior for "detox," so the practical questions are what fits your routine and tolerance. ## Can I take both together?

It's best not to stack multiple binders at the same time — they all work in the gut and can bind nutrients and medications, raising the chance of interference or constipation. If you use more than one, space them out, stay well hydrated, keep them at least 2 hours from medications, and check with your clinician. ## What neither can do
